I'm willing to give many things a try, but I'm finished with this microwave. Our first unit arrived scratched, which is not unusual. The second unit elicited an exorbitant amount of steam from food as it cooked, which would then billow out of the oven once I opened the door. Food cooked alarmingly fast, too. An additional nuisance was that the oven tripped the circuit breaker, rated at 20 amps, about 50% of the time we used it. This occurred even when there was no draw from other electrical devices on the circuit. Finally, we exchanged the oven again, for our third microwave. I was pleased that all worked well initially. After 4 uses, the circuit breaker tripped again. Mind you, this never happened before, even when using our 1250-watt microwave on the same circuit. Disappointed, I chose to use the microwave through the Christmas holiday, making a mental note to return it soon. Today, however, the microwave added a new twist to its display of incompetence. The turntable...Read more

This microwave seemed to have exactly what my mom needed. It was basic, but had all the functions that she liked like a turntable, the right size and watts, a clock, etc. But like many other reviews I've now seen, the clock changes from AM to PM and back at 1:00 not 12:00. While this is not a big issue as far as knowing what time it really is, this shows it is an inferior product with poor quality control, and poor service all around. Makes us wonder what else is wrong with it in regard to programming and use that we don't know, especially if something as simple as this is incorrect. I personally don't care how they tell time in China (it was mentioned in another review), this was made to be sold in countries where we use AM and PM and should be made correctly. Not sure if we are going to return it or not, but if given a chance I would NOT purchase this again. It's laughable that a big business like Electrolux who owns Frigidaire, does this to consumers and it's not a big deal...Read more

Purchased after reading some reviews that complained about the clock not properly showing AM/PM. It is not as bad as I had thought. The problem appears to be bad logic by whoever programmed the clock. The AM to PM switch does not take place until 13:00 for some reason, which I can live with. I also had to originally set the time on the clock to the opposite of what I wanted it to be set to (i.e. if you want it set to AM, set it to PM). For some reason it flips to the opposite when the minute changes for the first time. As long as you know how to work around those problems, they are not a big deal. At the end of a cooking cycle, it will beep at you until you press STOP or open the door which can be annoying.

Since this is being used as a microwave and not a desk clock I am giving it four stars since it does a good job at cooking food. I hope it turns out to be durable as it seems that you cannot find a microwave that lasts longer than two years any more.
