General Electric 0.7 cu. ft. Black Microwave Oven -Compact with 10 Power Levels Model JES738BK
This review is from: General Electric 0.7 cu. ft. Black Microwave Oven -Compact with 10 Power Levels Model JES738BK
We've had a microwave that looks like this one (Model JES1451) for a little less than three years now, and today I finally unplugged it and gave my husband strict orders to leave it that way, because first there was a little buzzing noise and then a strong odor of burning wiring. I let it cool down and gave it one more try with the same results. I might have given it one more star for having limped along this long, but not with the fire hazard.
It did work fairly well, although the heat has never been totally consistent, for most of the first year, then started making hideous noises. We got the runaround from all of the authorized repair folks we were given by GE service, but finally got a referral from Lowe's and did get it repaired under warranty. It's been working moderately well since then, with only occasional hideous noises, but the fire risk scares me and so I'll be shopping for some other brand to replace it.
