Haier MWM10100GC Stainless 1.0-Cu.Ft. Microwave with Grill

Absolutely loved this product...for the first 50 days. Then it died. I called Haier to find a local service center and was told they don't do repairs on this. So if I send in the receipt, cut off the power cord, take a blow dryer and remove the label on the back, along with a check for $15 via registered mail, they will send a replacement in 3 weeks.

As if it wasn't bad enough having the unit not even last 60 days, now I have to jump through all these hoops. And pay for the pleasure of doing so. Oh, and wait 3 weeks for a replacement, which means I have to go out and buy something in the meantime anyway.

The microwave is great, when it works. But Haier has a lot to learn about standing behind its products.

I recently received this product as a replacement for my 16-year-old microwave that decided it was time to retire. I was very used to the operations of the old one and was not sure how simple it would be to learn all the features of this new one. (The old one had no one-touch buttons other than defrost.)

So far, I am absolutely thrilled with my new oven. The stainless steel interior and exterior are visually pleasing and go well even with a mis-matched kitchen. Though I have not yet used the convection or grill features, the microwave features are simple and easy to learn. With the food raised up on the grill rack, plus the turntable in motion, the 1000-Watt power is excellent in cooking food both quickly and evenly.

My favorite feature is the "Start/+30 Second" button that allows me to reheat a cooled-off cup of coffee (for 30 seconds) with just one button push. This same feature is available to heat items from 1 to 6 minutes using the numeric keypad. (For...Read more

Not only is the oven a piece of junk, I can't get a single helpful word out of Haier customer "service" after three calls.
The convection oven doesn't even come close to reaching the temperature it claims to have reached. I used a new oven thermometer and an infra-red thermometer, which agreed with each other, but indicated that the oven was 50 to 75 degrees cooler than the oven display indicated.
Once I had it set for 400 degrees for 35 minutes. In the last five minutes the temperature dropped down to 275, as indicated by its own display! This is what I tried to call Haier about, three times, and got nothing.
No matter how much the price gets discounted, do not buy this thing.
