Like most here I am pretty choosey so finding a microwave I liked wasn't easy.

PROS:
1. Nice Bing! instead of BEEP!. I bought an Oster that goes BEEP!, very annoying. You can even turn the sound off on this LG.
2. Can see inside while food is cooking. Oster, and Panasonics are too dark to see inside (weak bulb, thick screen).
3. Inside light comes on when you open it.
4. Am/Pm clock indicator.
5. Fairly quiet door if you press the button in while closing.
6. Not too many worthless buttons that clutter up the interface. I might actually use some of them.

CONS:
1. Display is set into the face too far which makes it hard to view from above. I don't care that much, if I tilt my head a little I can see it.
2. Unsure of how long it will last (old Samsung lasted 10 years, doubt this one will).

I had had an LG microwave almost identical to this one--it might have been this one's predecessor--for about seven years but, one day recently, it just stopped cooking. I use the microwave daily so I went out the same day to Best Buy for a replacement. The LG they had was 0.2-0.3 cubic feet larger and priced at $170 which I thought was too big and too expensive, so I visited Home Depot next. They had the 1.2cf GE JES1456WJ for $120 so I bought it. I knew after using it just once that I was going to have to return it. It didn't have +10 and -10 second buttons like my old LG, the opener button could only be pushed on one side, and the turntable didn't return what you placed on it back to its original position. So I returned it and forked over the extra $50 for this new LG model.

Other than being a fraction of a cubic foot larger, having a two-line display and having a slightly different look/layout to the keypad, it's just what I was used to, including the +/- 10 second...Read more

First microwave stopped heating after a couple of days. The replacement worked good for 46 days. I am so happy that I bought this from a brick and mortar store, I had hate to have had to ship this load twice. Exchanged it for a different brand this time.
