Panasonic NN-H504WF 1200-Watt 1.1-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, White

When our previous microwave "died" suddenly, we were in a quandary, because as you know, many meals and other kinds of foods are now processed through microwave. So...

We came across this Panasonic Sensor 1200W, and we have been very impressed with its performance. It's easy to clean, and has 10 power levels for easy cooking. Then there's the popcorn button (cooks great), and this incredible process called the Inverter Turbo Defrost, and you wanna talk about quick defrost, well this is it! I'm still amazed at how quickly hard frozen food can be thawed so quickly. It's the selling point for me.

You can't go wrong with this one, and it comes highly recommended!!!

Let's face it -- microwave technology's been around for a long time & all these things work the same, so it's the little details that make the difference. I bought this oven, but wound up returning it b/c:

1. light doesn't go on when you open the door, which is just really weird & disconcerting.
2. The buttons are actually kinda hard to push
3. B/c of my kitchen, the only room for my mircowave is on top of the fridge, and from the ground, looking up, I could barely read the LCD display -- it had to do with the brightness & the angle.

I wound up sticking with a Sharp which I like much better. Better design, better shortcut buttons, easy to read screen, bright & cheery.

My oven died on the 4th use just like the other reviewer's. I would stongly advise against getting this model (my previous Panasonic microwave was OK, so hopefully this problem is model-specific).

For the 3 times it worked, I didn't have any complaints...

Update on 4/7: It took the repair shop 4 weeks to get the needed parts (fried inverter and tube). So I would caution people to be vary of the support Panasonic provides. But now that it's fixed, it works great (and I love the sensor feature, it heats my stuff to the perfect temperature without any user interaction).
