Panasonic NN-S634WF 1250-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Microwave Oven, White

This Panasonic is replacing an 11 year old Sharp that finally gave up and bit the dirt. The unit arrived within 5 days but it was noted that it was manufactured last year in April - so I believe it should have been further discounted since it was last years model!! That is probably the reason we could not find it in any store and we went to about 10 different ones looking for it. Two things that were not in the description: the door is a pull-to-open one, not a major factor but it seems a bit flimsy and you have to be careful not to pull the unit off the countertop. Second, the light inside does not come on when the door is opened, makes it a bit difficult to see the food when you have to do something to it mid way during cooking cycle (also when cleaning inside oven cavity).
The 'turbo' defrost actually takes longer to use than expected, it sets power and time by weight, my wife says she can defrost meat faster in frying pan on the stove! I spent 5 days researching...Read more
