I did not bother getting a guarantee, as my last Panasonic microwave lasted more than 5 years and never did stop running. This one stopped, and I mean stopped after 4 months. It won't cook longer than about 30 - 40 seconds and stops, no matter what setting, what temperature. Having things like this repaired is no longer worth it, so I have to get another one quick with Thanksgiving coming up next week. Arghhhhhhhhh...
