Comment: It only worked for a week then died while heating water. Been in the shop getting fixed now for about 3 weeks, waiting for 2 parts. I have used Sharp convection microwaves in the past and was expecting the same excellent quality. What a disappointment. Don't buy this oven. Continue searching.
Comment: So far, so good on the microwave convection oven. Have cooked several things so far and everything was liked. We've had trouble with a combo before (buying the Apollo half time oven which is not worth it even if it is cheap). Hope this Sharp lasts longer than the Apollo. So far, am happy with the unit.

Summary: Fantastic Buy 2010-07-11
Comment: This Sharp Micro/Convection oven is worth every dollar of the price you will pay. Quality: Excellent! I use the Convection feature as my oven all summer long because is does not heat up my kitchen as my normal range/oven will do. The Convection feature will roast any chicken, beef, pork beautifully. It will bake casseroles, pies and cakes to perfection. As I have an electric range, using this little oven is also a cost savings feature for it does not use as much electric. It is great around the holidays for an extra oven when you are cooking for "the crowd". The Microwave function is a little less powerful as my older micro, but it does not create a problem for me. I find by adding an extra few seconds to recipes it works just fine. I cook veggies, reheat, defrost, etc. with the micro funcion. I find most people do not realize the wonders of the Micro/Convection oven. People ask me how I cooked the chicken in the micro? LOL I like these ovens much better than toaster ovens! This oven comes with many features....Probably more than I will use. I doubt if I want to broil a steak as I do mine on the grill. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase! I saved hundreds of dollars by purchasing this product through Amazon.... Most ovens like this cost between $400-500. A++++++

Summary: cedar grilled Norwegian salmon with fresh dill sauce...mmmm.... 2010-05-16
Comment: I live alone and I bought this when my cheap little microwave died and I thought I might save some money on baking small meals with a small convection oven. I didn't fully utilize it for a couple years (I did bake chicken every week and loved it). I've only discovered the programed Grill option (and am exploring the other options) in the past few months and am totally amazed! I now grill steaks, burgers and this morning i grilled a small chunk of Norwegian salmon on a soaked cedar plank that was being promoted at my favorite supermarket last week where I bought the salmon on sale. Wow! Delicious! I made it for myself for brunch since I had just come off of a tiring work week and I needed a treat. It took about 11 minutes. I topped it with a little homemade dill sauce, the ingredients I always have on hand (dried dill, yogurt and lemon juice) and it was the most moist, succulent salmon I've had in a long long time, even in restaurants. I topped it off with a cup of expensive coffee and I felt like a queen. Nice breakfast for a single working girl. I also never used the programed "Comp Defrost" feature until recently. It was the first time I had a prayer of defrosting meat in the microwave that didn't half cook and tasted like rubber. I do check it often enough and make sure the meat is "pulled apart" as the little LED window suggests, so it defrosts evenly. I can't sing enough praises for this little gem of an appliance. I do think the microwave feature is a tiny bit slower than a regular microwave, but for me it's not very noticeable. The only inconvenience I've had with this appliance at all is some of the programmed options (grill, bake, defrost, etc.) don't compute if your serving is too small or insufficient weight. I merely pump up the quantity or weight and take it out sooner. Works all the time. This house I now live in has a microwave above the stove and I use it to store my bills and other random paperwork! Oh, forgot to mention, I just baked my first batch of cookies last week. Holy cow... no burnt edges or unevenly baked ones! I made a regular batch of peanut butter cookies and only made enough cookies (1-1/2 dozen) that would fit right on the rotating plate that's in the unit - no cookie sheet. The rest of the dough went into the fridge for another day. Experimenting with the timing for cookies is my next challenge because, since the edges don't get real brown like in a conventional oven, the overbaked cookies can become extra crunchy (not burnt) instead of moist. This is by far my most utilized appliance and I'll never go without it. I hardly use my stove anymore. I just had to share this after my incredible meal this morning!

Summary: A OVEN FOR EVERYTHING 2010-03-25
Comment: I have purchased this over for over 4 years. Works amazingly especially for all the days when you don't want to turn on that big oven just to toast/bake/grill some food. Best machine invented! I've researched for a long time for a product like this. All my three teenagers have no problems baking a frozen pizza. Makes life easier! Highly recommended. Only negative: Doesn't make good popcorn. Other than that, great investment. You will use it everyday for anything...
