We remodeled out kitchen in August, 2010 and purchased the microwave from a local dealer in downtown Vero Beach, FL. This is a top of the line model, Whirlpool Gold, and worked satisfactorily for a period of 16 months; the warranty is good for only 12 months. The magnetron, the part that provides heat, stopped working. Everything works except the heating unit; lights, fans, clock, etc. I have been a Whirlpool customer for years and have been happy with their products, but am very disappointed with the quality of the microwave.
